White Quartz Nappiness

Pure white Silestone Blanco Zeus is the ultimate matte white quartz worktop material
OOOH baby! Silestone are no dummies at white quartz worktops – their Blanco Zeus Extreme is simply one of the best engineered stones available. Endlessly bright and imbued with special bug-busting Bacteriostatic silver technology, this white quartz also colour codes seamlessly with the Spanish market leader’s range of coloured quartz Integrity sinks. So cool that WorktopEnvy gets, um, worktop envy every time we supply some to a deserving UK home. Now, there are other brands of white quartz worktop on the market and to the untutored eye it’s difficult to spot the difference. Certainly all the white quartz materials we supply factory-direct – even the most affordable quartz – perform every bit as well as Silestone. But for the purists out there, Silestone’s Blanco Zeus Extreme is just that little bit, well, whiter than the rest. Rather than a high-gloss polish, it enjoys a chalkier mid-matte finish that complements all kinds of kitchen cabinet magnificently, whether it’s bold monochrome contrasts or handle-less clinical white harmony you’re after. And because of its high-density vibro-compressed production (that means it’s been shaken up and squidged back together in a vacuum under huge pressure) Silestone Blanco Zeus Extreme is scientifically stain-resistant. Add to that Silestone’s reassuring 10-year warranty against material defects and our own free 12-month workmanship guarantee on installations, and you’ll be wishing your white quartz worktops many nappy returns for years to come. Here at WorktopEnvy we take pride in offering a web-leading range of white quartz worktops to suit every pocket. So why not see how we supply the UK factory-direct at fab prices; inform your worktop ideas with our Inspiration pages – and even pick up kitchen design tips from the pros. Granite – What’s Trending?

Gorgeous brown and graphite grey granite with matte antiqued finish installed for Hothe Fine Kitchens by WorktopEnvy.comWHITE quartz worktops and their black granite cousins are Britain’s best-loved kitchen stone work-surfacing – amassing more than 8,000 UK Google searches every month. But for all the beauty and durability of natural granite like Absolute Black or quartz brands like Silestone and Cimstone, there are myriad lesser-known alternatives. And here is one of WorktopEnvy’s top picks for something that little bit different – matte-honed Antique Brown granite. Of the hundreds of stones we supply, this is an incredibly tactile granite worktop that’s almost satiny to touch. Up close and personal, its understated yet vivid graphite-like patterning shimmers gunmetal-grey and silver. Here, this gorgeous Italian material looks timeless on cream Shaker units built bespoke by our friends at Hothe Fine Kitchens, who supply their superior hand-made products to the North West of England and North Wales. Director Sam Hothe said: “We wanted contrast between our units and granite worktops in this kitchen but were keen to avoid anything too stark. When we supply a kitchen we’re always thinking about adding textures for interest, so the Antique Brown was a natural choice. It fulfils the role of black granite but with a more gentle overall finish. We specified softened corners around the ceramic Butler sink and we’re really pleased with the results. It goes without saying that we have high expectations of our quartz and granite suppliers and the guys at WorktopEnvy meet those expectations.” WorktopEnvy’s aim is to provide a web-leading selection of natural and engineered stone for customers across the country to enjoy. In the past month we’ve installed quartz and granite worktops in London, Surrey, Essex, Kent, Merseyside, Northamptonshire, Manchester, Birmingham and Dorset – with our commercial work also nominated for a prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards gong. Add to that our website’s extensive Inspiration and independent style guide and it’s easy to see why WorktopEnvy.com is truly Britain’s granite and quartz worktop specialist. We make our worktops with love – and sell factory-direct. To learn more about our ordering processes or to get a quote click here – or Request a Call Back for a chat.

Worktops for a gong

Kenyan Blackwood Marble gorgeousness produced by WorktopEnvy.com for our commercial partners

WHETHER it’s white quartz stone worktops or black granite in a residential kitchen, or a high-end commercial project, WorktopEnvy loves to deliver. So today we’re enormously proud to announce that our superior stone-work is up for TWO gongs at the prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2013.  It’s not every day that one enjoys a champagne moment, but it’s easy to see why the inverted waterfall edge-detail of this expansive bar in the Luggage Room at London’s Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel caught the RABD judges’ attention. And now we’re on a shortlist of just seven to win the Best Restaurant or Bar in a Hotel category. Crafted by our expert masons from Kenyan Blackwood marble, this five-tiered worktop is now being enjoyed by the discerning denizens of one of the capital’s hottest nightspots. Each layer, bonded precisely together, has a delicate rounded bull-nosed edge finish to create a functional piece of art. Our chairman William Evans worked alongside one of the best design outfits in the world, Fabled Studio, to produce this fabulous example of our trade. He said: “It’s great to be nominated but the truth is it was just another day’s work for us. We apply exactly the same standards of quality and attention-to-detail in every project we take on. Most of all I’m delighted for the stonemasons on my factory floor and the fitting teams who worked through the night to complete this project for Fabled Studio. Like us, Fabled Studio has high expectations of its work and insists its contractors exercise the same level of craft and care. They were a delight to work with.” The full Luggage Room project involved far more than simply making this beautiful bar. We also fabricated and installed a truly stunning art-deco-style fireplace and staircase and laid metre after metre of Turkish Lilac marble flooring, book-matched to radiate natural symmetry using techniques preferred by the finest violin makers. Our work has also helped another of our valued clients onto the Awards’ shortlist, this time in London’s Best Multiple Restaurant category. To learn more about the Calacatta Oro marble we installed at Piccolino Cicchetti, check here. for Best  weighed in with a second nomination To discuss your private or commercial stone-work needs just Request a Call Back or email info@worktopenvy.com. would you rustle up on sexy white quartz worktops like these? A: Boo-meringues! Cimstone’s awesomely affordable Arcadia speckled white composite stone is so durable that it guarantees a, er, good return in any kitchen. This brilliantly (Ab)original piece of worktop design is just the sort of project that WorktopEnvy – as approved fabricators of this highly respected quartz brand – loves to tackle. Coupled with flowing thermo-formed high-gloss Parapan acrylic cabinet doors, Cimstone Arcadia’s white quartz beautifully completes the mega-modern handle-less kitchen look. Because, of all the branded white quartz products out there, Cimstone Arcadia is a real box ticker. Not only is it vibro-compressed into slabs so dense they can’t stain under normal conditions, Cimstone also award it a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in the material. Quartz marble-ous quartz

Posted on: No Comments

White and grey Carrara marble-style quartz with kidney breakfast barWANT the look of marble without the fuss of such a “soft” natural stone worktop? Here’s one solution. Spanish engineered-stone maestros Compac have reproduced the subtle grey veining of classic Italian marble in its Carrara white quartz. Because it’s vacuum-formed into high-density slabs, this material has superior stain and scratch resistance – so performs perfectly in kitchen conditions. Unlike metamorphic marble – not to be confused with tough igneous granite worktops – Compac quartz is unaffected by household acids like lemon juice. Here it’s been used in multiple thicknesses – including a kidney-shaped quartz breakfast bar – with black acrylic Parapan® doors to stunning effect. Read how to buy this marble-ous product here. Beautiful Kitchens… sensational worktops

beautifulkitchens2Our white quartz island, made in Unistone Bianco and installed by WorktopEnvy, is the centre-piece of this striking modern kitchen design. The view from the couch on the continental-style outside decking area shows how homeowners Suzanne and Mark Page brought the outside in – and inside out – with expansive bi-folding doors. For more great design tips and ideas why not bookmark beautifulkitchensblog.co.uk and stay tuned?

beautifulkitchens4We couldn’t have put it better than delighted Suzanne when she said: “The island unit is probably the part of the scheme I like best”. In fact the only people more delighted with the finished result are our skilled masons – whose clever low-visual-impact mitred jointing made the look of this worktop island possible. See how it’s done here.
