Marble worktops help Piccolino Cicchetti win Design award
WE love quartz worktops. We love granite worktops. And we love marble, period. Natural and engineered stone surfacing is what we do. So it’s nice now and then to have our work recognised. Well this stunning Calacatta Oro Italian marble bartop has just helped our friends at Piccolino Cicchetti scoop a big gong at the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards (RABD) 2013. Hardly surprising given just how drop-dead-gorgeous the place looks (take a squizz at some more pix here). The clever folks at Robert Angell Design International dreamed up this ensemble of classic marble, olive green upholstery and glossy black panels to nail the Best Multiple Restaurant (London) category. We chipped in with some bull-nosed edge finishing and first-rate craftsmanship to unite their delightful form with our famous functionality. To enjoy the fruits of our labour over a relaxing glass or two you can find Piccolino’s at Heddon Street, London, W1. Our founder Bill Evans – learn a little more about his fascinating life in stone here – said: “It’s always pleasing to be part of such a successful project. We have hundreds of domestic and commercial contracts a year and they all get the same care and attention. Two of our projects were shortlisted at the RABD this year – so hopefully we’re doing something right.” At WorktopEnvy.com, we know that buying quartz or granite worktops for your kitchen is a real investment for our residential customers. Granite – What’s Trending?

Gorgeous brown and graphite grey granite with matte antiqued finish installed for Hothe Fine Kitchens by WorktopEnvy.comWHITE quartz worktops and their black granite cousins are Britain’s best-loved kitchen stone work-surfacing – amassing more than 8,000 UK Google searches every month. But for all the beauty and durability of natural granite like Absolute Black or quartz brands like Silestone and Cimstone, there are myriad lesser-known alternatives. And here is one of WorktopEnvy’s top picks for something that little bit different – matte-honed Antique Brown granite. Of the hundreds of stones we supply, this is an incredibly tactile granite worktop that’s almost satiny to touch. Up close and personal, its understated yet vivid graphite-like patterning shimmers gunmetal-grey and silver. Here, this gorgeous Italian material looks timeless on cream Shaker units built bespoke by our friends at Hothe Fine Kitchens, who supply their superior hand-made products to the North West of England and North Wales. Director Sam Hothe said: “We wanted contrast between our units and granite worktops in this kitchen but were keen to avoid anything too stark. When we supply a kitchen we’re always thinking about adding textures for interest, so the Antique Brown was a natural choice. It fulfils the role of black granite but with a more gentle overall finish. We specified softened corners around the ceramic Butler sink and we’re really pleased with the results. It goes without saying that we have high expectations of our quartz and granite suppliers and the guys at WorktopEnvy meet those expectations.” WorktopEnvy’s aim is to provide a web-leading selection of natural and engineered stone for customers across the country to enjoy. In the past month we’ve installed quartz and granite worktops in London, Surrey, Essex, Kent, Merseyside, Northamptonshire, Manchester, Birmingham and Dorset – with our commercial work also nominated for a prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards gong. Add to that our website’s extensive Inspiration and independent style guide and it’s easy to see why WorktopEnvy.com is truly Britain’s granite and quartz worktop specialist. We make our worktops with love – and sell factory-direct. To learn more about our ordering processes or to get a quote click here – or Request a Call Back for a chat.
