White Quartz Nappiness

Posted on: No Comments

Pure white Silestone Blanco Zeus is the ultimate matte white quartz worktop material
OOOH baby! Silestone are no dummies at white quartz worktops – their Blanco Zeus Extreme is simply one of the best engineered stones available. Endlessly bright and imbued with special bug-busting Bacteriostatic silver technology, this white quartz also colour codes seamlessly with the Spanish market leader’s range of coloured quartz Integrity sinks. So cool that WorktopEnvy gets, um, worktop envy every time we supply some to a deserving UK home. Now, there are other brands of white quartz worktop on the market and to the untutored eye it’s difficult to spot the difference. Certainly all the white quartz materials we supply factory-direct – even the most affordable quartz – perform every bit as well as Silestone. But for the purists out there, Silestone’s Blanco Zeus Extreme is just that little bit, well, whiter than the rest. Rather than a high-gloss polish, it enjoys a chalkier mid-matte finish that complements all kinds of kitchen cabinet magnificently, whether it’s bold monochrome contrasts or handle-less clinical white harmony you’re after. And because of its high-density vibro-compressed production (that means it’s been shaken up and squidged back together in a vacuum under huge pressure) Silestone Blanco Zeus Extreme is scientifically stain-resistant. Add to that Silestone’s reassuring 10-year warranty against material defects and our own free 12-month workmanship guarantee on installations, and you’ll be wishing your white quartz worktops many nappy returns for years to come. Here at WorktopEnvy we take pride in offering a web-leading range of white quartz worktops to suit every pocket. So why not see how we supply the UK factory-direct at fab prices; inform your worktop ideas with our Inspiration pages – and even pick up kitchen design tips from the pros. Granite worktops – when light is right

Posted on: No Comments

WorktopEnvy.com supplied and fitted this bright Angel Cream granite worktop for our friends at Hothe Fine Kitchens, Ruthin, North Wales
WANT
to see the light in your granite kitchen worktops? Let our Angel Cream granite convert you. For nothing unites the beauty of natural stone with that fresh modern look quite like this magnificent Indian material. As an alternative to the sometimes clinical colours of engineered stone quartz worktops, Angel Cream and its cousins River White and White Topazio are tough to beat – in every sense. Not only is granite among the hardest materials in nature but each slab is different, guaranteeing a truly unique worktop statement. Here our first-quality Angel Cream granite, with its tight ivory grain and tracts of beige and grey, gloriously finishes a superb shaker kitchen crafted by our friends at Hothe Fine Kitchens in North Wales. Proprietor Sam Hothe told WorktopEnvy.com: “The brief was simple – create something timeless yet modern. And Angel Cream works brilliantly with the matte white of the units but also picks up the warm colours of the traditional fired-clay tiled floor. We’re very happy with the results.” As with all ‘highly-directional’ granite – that’s to say with lots of movement within its patterning – it’s vital to choose a granite supplier that will work sensitively to ensure that movement flows with your kitchen’s requirements (trust us – nothing looks worse than expensive granite fitted together with clashing grains). Equally, light-coloured granite should be factory-sealed to protect against staining, something we do THREE times as standard.  To see samples of our stones up close and personal, you can visit our North Wales factory showroom serving Liverpool, Merseyside, Cheshire, Chester and Greater Manchester, or our South London showroom serving London, Surrey and the South East – or just click here. Award winning worktops. Granite. Quartz. Marble.

Marble worktops help Piccolino Cicchetti win Design award
WE love quartz worktops. We love granite worktops. And we love marble, period. Natural and engineered stone surfacing is what we do. So it’s nice now and then to have our work recognised. Well this stunning Calacatta Oro Italian marble bartop has just helped our friends at Piccolino Cicchetti scoop a big gong at the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards (RABD) 2013. Hardly surprising given just how drop-dead-gorgeous the place looks (take a squizz at some more pix here). The clever folks at Robert Angell Design International dreamed up this ensemble of classic marble, olive green upholstery and glossy black panels to nail the Best Multiple Restaurant (London) category. We chipped in with some bull-nosed edge finishing and first-rate craftsmanship to unite their delightful form with our famous functionality. To enjoy the fruits of our labour over a relaxing glass or two you can find Piccolino’s at Heddon Street, London, W1. Our founder Bill Evans – learn a little more about his fascinating life in stone here – said: “It’s always pleasing to be part of such a successful project. We have hundreds of domestic and commercial contracts a year and they all get the same care and attention. Two of our projects were shortlisted at the RABD this year – so hopefully we’re doing something right.” At WorktopEnvy.com, we know that buying quartz or granite worktops for your kitchen is a real investment for our residential customers. That’s why we offer a web-leading range of granite and quartz worktops and have an exacting approach to customer service, starting with this website. Take a scroll through our Products pages for the most informed view on natural and engineered stone you’ll find on the net, with stunning photography and bags of ideas to inspire and inform your quartz or granite worktop look. Granite – What’s Trending?

Posted on: No Comments

Gorgeous brown and graphite grey granite with matte antiqued finish installed for Hothe Fine Kitchens by WorktopEnvy.comWHITE quartz worktops and their black granite cousins are Britain’s best-loved kitchen stone work-surfacing – amassing more than 8,000 UK Google searches every month. But for all the beauty and durability of natural granite like Absolute Black or quartz brands like Silestone and Cimstone, there are myriad lesser-known alternatives. And here is one of WorktopEnvy’s top picks for something that little bit different – matte-honed Antique Brown granite. Of the hundreds of stones we supply, this is an incredibly tactile granite worktop that’s almost satiny to touch. Up close and personal, its understated yet vivid graphite-like patterning shimmers gunmetal-grey and silver. Here, this gorgeous Italian material looks timeless on cream Shaker units built bespoke by our friends at Hothe Fine Kitchens, who supply their superior hand-made products to the North West of England and North Wales. Director Sam Hothe said: “We wanted contrast between our units and granite worktops in this kitchen but were keen to avoid anything too stark. When we supply a kitchen we’re always thinking about adding textures for interest, so the Antique Brown was a natural choice. It fulfils the role of black granite but with a more gentle overall finish. We specified softened corners around the ceramic Butler sink and we’re really pleased with the results. It goes without saying that we have high expectations of our quartz and granite suppliers and the guys at WorktopEnvy meet those expectations.” WorktopEnvy’s aim is to provide a web-leading selection of natural and engineered stone for customers across the country to enjoy. In the past month we’ve installed quartz and granite worktops in London, Surrey, Essex, Kent, Merseyside, Northamptonshire, Manchester, Birmingham and Dorset – with our commercial work also nominated for a prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards gong. Add to that our website’s extensive Inspiration and independent style guide and it’s easy to see why WorktopEnvy.com is truly Britain’s granite and quartz worktop specialist. We make our worktops with love – and sell factory-direct. To learn more about our ordering processes or to get a quote click here – or Request a Call Back for a chat.

Quartz marble-ous quartz

Posted on: No Comments

White and grey Carrara marble-style quartz with kidney breakfast barWANT the look of marble without the fuss of such a “soft” natural stone worktop? Here’s one solution. Spanish engineered-stone maestros Compac have reproduced the subtle grey veining of classic Italian marble in its Carrara white quartz. Because it’s vacuum-formed into high-density slabs, this material has superior stain and scratch resistance – so performs perfectly in kitchen conditions. Unlike metamorphic marble – not to be confused with tough igneous granite worktops – Compac quartz is unaffected by household acids like lemon juice. Here it’s been used in multiple thicknesses – including a kidney-shaped quartz breakfast bar – with black acrylic Parapan® doors to stunning effect. Read how to buy this marble-ous product here. Choc Lime Quartz Worktops

Posted on: No Comments

Chocolate Limes in SilestoneTHIS smart piece of quartz worktops design in Silestone has WorktopEnvy dreaming of chocolate-lime boiled candy. Skilled stonecraft went into the low-impact mitred jointing for the box step – a simple and brilliantly effective way to separate work spaces. And there’s something tropical about the flamboyant colour combo. All told, we think jaunty pea-green cabinets go just sweet with the rich-cocoa Gedatsu quartz worktops go with the sleek lines of this sexy undermounted sink just sweet. Not that this quartz kitchen worktop solution is merely an aesthetic triumph – engineered stone is vibro-compressed into high-density slabs designed specifically to minimise the risk of staining, even when exposed to the strongest of pigments.
